Well if you’re looking at completing the CPC32713 Certificate III in Gas Fitting there are no prerequisites in order to complete this. This training program enables you to start from the ground up.

How can I complete this gas course?
All you need to do is complete the application form in order to begin your path to becoming a gas fitter. From there you will be enrolled and training details will be sent.
The course consists of 19 days of practical training along with three days of eLearning to be completed prior to training.

What if I only want to do part of the course?
If you’re considering this training course but are unsure if you want to do the entire training program you are able to complete the Gas Work Licence – Restricted to Service. This training program enables you to service Type A Gas appliances. From there, the path to becoming a full gas fitter requires you to complete the rest of the Certificate III in Gas Fitting, which will enable you to install and commission gas appliances.
How long will it take for me to become a gas fitter?
The overall process takes just under two years. It takes three months for you to complete the Certificate III in Gas Fitting training course, then from there, you’ll need to apply for and hold your interim licence for one year. After that, selected units from the Certificate IV in Plumbing & Services are required to be complete.
Can I hold a gas fitter licence along with my electrical and plumbing too?
Yes, in Australia you can easily cross skill between the trades and hold all three licences. There are no restrictions. The more licences you hold, the easier it will be for you to get work.
