Bizmatrix’s comprehensive, Nationally Recognised Training Certificate III in Gas Fitting course held at our Brisbane Training Centre is the best way of getting there, equipping you with the knowledge and skills you will need to excel in this profession. And if your ambition is to obtain your full Gas Work License, this is the pathway to follow.
Our course gives you practical skills in performing gas installations, commissioning and service for domestic/commercial Type A gas appliances, consumer gas pipework for Natural Gas and LP gas, caravan and marine and LPG tanks and cylinder systems.

And if you have already completed the Gas Work Licence – Servicing Only course with Bizmatrix, you don’t need to resit the units you completed, and your course costs are reduced.
The Training Mix
- Online Leaning: Five (5) Modules = Approx. four (4) to five (5) days of eLearning prior to face to face training.
- Practical Face-to-Face Learning: 20 days of face-to-face practical training and assessment days completed over 4 week period.
Course for Former Bizmatrix Gas Work Licence – Restricted to Servicing Students:
- 15 days of face-to-face practical training and assessment days completed over 3 week period.
Held in our Brendale Training Centre, Brisbane, we welcome interstate students and help them find suitable accommodation / transport to comfortably attend the course.
Course Requirements:
While there are no formal course requirements, our students must:
- Be officially employed or self-employed and have access to a licensed Gas Fitter for the Supervision of the practical experience declaration / logbook hours.
- Agree to the Training Plan Agreement to achieve the required due dates milestones of the learnings and assessments.
- Meet a minimum of dress safety standards and have all of the required protective equipment for practical classes – your own, safety boots, eye protection and long sleeve flame proof shirts and long pants.
- Provide evidence of investing in the required test equipment and tools required for the Gas Work Licence education, and to effectively complete your obligations as a licensed Gas Fitter, to work effectively and professionally as Gas Work Licensed.
- Provide a Statement of Attainment for HLTAID011 Provide First Aid prior to attending the course. It will then be credit transferred to the qualification.
The course is open to:
- non-tradespersons or licensed tradespersons within the plumbing, electrical, mechanical, electronics, metal work, refrigeration and air-conditioning fields.
- Required to work on and install, commission and service Type A gas appliances, gas pipework for Type A gas appliances, reticulated gas supplies including gas cylinders/gas tanks, mobile and portable caravans and marine installations.

Course Outcomes
Upon graduating from the Bizmatrix CPC32720 Certificate III in Gas Fitting course:
- You can apply for the first provisional licence, a Qld Gas Work Licence (Interim).
- This is the first step allowing you to work as a gas fitter while supervised by a fully licensed fitter.
- During this timeframe, you will be required to complete the 60 hrs/ minimum of 10 jobs practical experience declaration/logbook. This commenced on your enrolment and must be completed within 3 years from the Gas Work Licence (Interim)
- To receive a full open Gas Work Licence, you are required to complete four (4) more training units part of the Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services.
- Basically when you achieve the Gas Work Licence (Interim) and have completed the 60 hrs Practical Experience Declaration and the (4) four Gas-specific Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services units – you then apply for the Gas Fitters Gas Work Licence.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Bizmatrix CPC32720 Certificate III in Gas Fitting is a full qualification, and upon successful completion you receive a nationally accredited Certificate III in Gas Fitting.
- Beware that many other training organisations only offer a record of results/statement of attainment for units completed and not the full Certificate III in Gas fitting .

Course Dates
We recommend anyone undertaking this course to plan your journey and study time to allocate days to what needs to be completed each week and plan to attend the virtual classes as programmed for each course.
