Restricted Electrical Course
The Restricted Electrical Course is for those wanting to complete minor electrical work (50 VAC – 1000 VAC) inline with their current trade.
That means, disconnect and reconnect, locate and rectify, fault find or test and tag electrical appliances used for your current trade.
The training program combines both theoretical learning with practical training within a simulated environment.
There are so many unit combinations when it comes to completing the Restricted Electrical Course. Which means that the timeframe varies.
However, in general, you can expect the learning program to last between 6 and 10 days.
The first half of the training will be made up of online theory. Then once completed, you will be required to complete on-site training at our facility.
Once this part of the training is complete, and students have passed the assessment, they will be eligible to complete an application with the ESO in order to obtain the Restricted Electrical License.
Note: This course is NOT for those wanting to complete a path to become an electrician.
Students with a permit, who complete the Restricted Electrical Course will be eligible to apply for the Restricted Electrical Licence through the ESO. Once the licence is obtained, you will be able to complete the restricted electrical work in line with your trade.
The licence will state the maximum voltage and specific appliances you are eligible to work on. For example, plumbers are only able to work on hot water systems, while gas fitters are only able to work on gas appliances.
Please note: Electrical online theory must be complete within three months after sign up date, and students must book face to face training dates on sign up. If you fail to attend this training after sign up (within 3 months) then you must pay a fee to rebook course $700, as once student confirms attendance, dates cannot be changed.
All of Bizmatrix Restricted Electrical Courses come with two extra units as part of the total course fee:
> UEENEEE101A Apply Occupational Health and Safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace
> UEENEEP026A Conduct in-service safety testing of electrical cord connected equipment and cord assemblies
The below costs include all books, facilities and course materials except for logbook experience, which is to be completed within the student’s current workplace. If you require insitutional logbook training, Bizmatrix can provide this at an extra daily rate.
