There are four Post Gas Certificate IV gas units that are generally undertaken when you need an open licence after successfully completing Cert III in Gas Fitting or Cert III in Plumbing. This is due to needing a full Gas Work Licence to be a licensed Gas fitter to install, commission, and service Type A gas appliances and gas systems. These units are also ideal to complete if you are looking to update your skills and knowledge on the latest industry standards/gas appliances especially if you haven’t studied in recent years. This helps to keep you current with the ever-changing technologies and regulations to reduce your risk and to be compliant with your obligations as a professional Gas Fitter.
In Queensland, the post gas units are broken up into four Certificate IV gas subjects. These units are required for the holders of a Gas Work Licence (Interim) who need to complete these as one of the two requirements to progress to a full Gas Work Licence.
The student can select single units, clustered or all four units as required for their progression to a Full Gas Work Licence.
