Gas Work Licence – Servicing Only

Training in Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra

Gas Work Licence – Servicing Only

  • Become a technician who can service a wider range of Domestic / Commercial Type A gas appliances.
  • Increase your employability as someone who has a dual qualification.

This course is made up of selected units from CPC32720 Certificate III in Gas Fitting and CPC40920 Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services.

Recommended for anyone with:

  • A cross trade background, e.g. electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, appliance technician, gas or mechanical fitter
  • And / or a minimum 2 or 3 years experience in a call of trade requiring you  to service gas appliances.
  • Who have access to or are working for a licensed gas fitter.

Designed to enable you to service, repair, and maintain Type A domestic and commercial gas appliances, by applying for the Queensland Gas Work Licence (Servicing) – which “authorises you to service, repair and test a type A gas device (appliance)” – or the equivalent Gas Service Licences in other States or Territories.

The Training Mix

Our course combines 4-5 days online training and 8 days practical face-to-face sessions for maximum flexibility. This has several advantages:

    • Complete all theory before the face-to-face practical, minimising time away from work/home.
    • You can go back over topics, pausing and rewatching video lessons as many times as you like.
    • When students attend face-to-face, the trainer can connect the dots, and then focus more on practical to allow the theory learnt through the eLearning to be better utilised.

Course Requirements:

While there are no formal course requirements, Bizmatrix students must:

  • Have a relevant trade to complete the training and access to doing the field experience work as you complete the training.
  • Have access to – or are working for – a licensed gas fitter.
  • Must commence the 20 hrs practical logbook field experience on registration.
  • If the 20 hrs of practical logbook experience isn’t possible in the field, this can be completed with Bizmatrix at an extra cost after the course.

Bizmatrix also asks all students to provide a Statement of Attainment for HLTAID011 Provide First Aid prior to attending the course. This will then be credited and transferred to the Gas Work Licence – Restricted to Servicing qualification.
